The Ideal Candidate for a Male Facelift
The ideal candidate for a male facelift is someone who is in overall good health, is a non-smoker, and who is unhappy with the appearance of aging to their facial features. As men age, the muscles around the eyes, jowls, cheeks, and forehead can begin to loosen, sag, and wrinkle. This can create a look of sternness, anger, or tiredness that does not reflect how he feels inside. Dr. Ortiz is a board-certified plastic surgeon who works closely with clients to achieve their surgical goals. Through a Rhytidectomy, Dr. Ortiz helps you to restore the smooth, firm, contoured, youthful, masculine features lost to time. What is a Male Face Lift?
Rhytidectomy, commonly known as a male facelift, is a surgical procedure used to reduce fine lines, wrinkles, sagging skin, and loss of definition to a man’s face and neck. Depending on the client’s individual goals, the procedure can be performed to focus on two areas of the face: the lower face and neck or the cheeks and upper face and forehead.
The traditional male facelift targets the lower part of the face and neck. During the traditional male facelift, Dr. Ortiz uses surgical incisions along the temples of the face to hide signs of scarring along the hairline. He then stretches the skin of the face backward, allowing access to remove fatty tissue, tighten muscles and remove extra skin of the neck and lower two-thirds of the face. Areas such as the neck, chin, and jowls are contoured before restructuring the skin to lay smoothly over the newly defined features. This creates a firm, smooth, contoured appearance that adds the definition to a man’s face that was lost to aging.
During an endoscopic male facelift, tiny incisions are made behind the ears and along the hairline, leaving minimal visibility of scarring. Dr. Ortiz then inserts a long, thin endoscope under the skin- the endoscope is a lighted camera that allows your surgeon to see the facial structures underneath the skin. Using small endoscopic tools, he then lifts the cheekbones and upper portion of the face and forehead to produce the structured, masculine definition of the face, improving muscle tone and reducing wrinkles and other signs of aging along the cheeks, eyes, and forehead.
