You want a rounder, fuller backside and have decided the Brazilian Butt Lift is right for you! The problem you’re now facing is the timing – when is the best time to have a cosmetic surgery for minimal impact and disruption in your life? Dr. Ortiz, our renowned plastic surgeon in Raleigh, is sharing why the cold weather months like January, February, and March may be the best time to schedule a cosmetic procedure.
Have Your Bikini Body Ready By Summer
If you want to show off your firmer, rounder bottom in a bathing suit or during your summer vacation, you’ll want to have the procedure completed a few months in advance. While it takes four to six weeks for all initial swelling from the procedure to subside, it takes several more months for the tissues to heal and fat cells to stabilize so you can show off the final result. This means if you want to set off fireworks (metaphorically speaking!) during the Fourth of July, you’ll want to have the procedure completed between January and March.
Winter Wardrobe Hides Bandages and Shapewear
Most body contouring procedures require wearing bandages until any incisions are healed and on top of that, a compression garment is worn for six weeks to minimize swelling and ensure your skin retracts. When fat grafting to the buttock, removing fat from areas like the belly, thighs, or hips may mean wearing special shapewear and compression garments that offer quite a bit of coverage. In the warm weather months, shorts, tank tops, and other lightweight attire may make the bandages and garments more obvious, whereas in winter, wearing loose yoga pants and hoodies will provide comfortable coverage.
Another thing to consider is in the Raleigh heat, the compression garments and bandages may be especially uncomfortable, and sweat may even cause skin irritation. While staying indoors in the air conditioning will eliminate that problem, when you do go out and about, you’ll be a bit more comfortable doing so in the cool weather.
Most Available Opportunities to Schedule Time Off
It’s recommended to take at least 5 to 10 days off work to recover from a Brazilian butt lift, which can be difficult if your workplace has a lot of people who take time off during the summer. Fewer people take vacation in the winter months, outside of the holidays, so you may have an easier time getting the time you need to heal. Also, if you have kids, having them in school while you recover can also make things easier!
Stay Inside to Heal and Relax After a Brazilian Butt Lift
Summer months mean gardening, hiking, going to the beach, and basically, spending time outdoors. After a cosmetic procedure, it’s important to rest and let your body heal which may be difficult when everything you want to do involves getting outside. Fortunately, winter is a great time to stay inside and hibernate which is exactly what your body needs to recover quickly and thoroughly. You can lay down on the couch (on your side or stomach) and pull up Netflix for a few days and keep activity to a minimum, which is what you may be doing even if you didn’t have a BBL!
